Glenbrook.
(From our Correspondent)
The long continued dry weather is
becoming a very serious matter about
here. The lagoon that has supplied
the railway for many months has
again become dry, and Glenbrook
Creek, which was supposed to be a
never failing supply, has stoped run-
ning, and the big waterhole, known
as the Duck Hole, out at the pumping
station is already some inches below
overflow level. Should this supply
entirely fail it will mean a big ex-
pense to the railway Commissioner, as
well as to many business places and
private residences are now depending
on this supply.
Many of the camps have disappear-
ed and the place looks deserted and
barren in many places that was quite
the opposite before the deviation
works started, there being hardly a
decent tree left now.
