NOTICE OF PROPOSAL TO UNITE TO
THE KATOOMBA MUNICIPALITY PART
OF THE BLUE MOUNTAINS SHIRE.
IN pursuance of the provisions of the "Local
?*? , Government Act, 1906,' and the Acts
amending the same: Notice is hereby given
that it is proposed to alter the boundaries of
the Katoomba Municipality and the Blue Moun
tains Shire by' uniting to 'the former the part
of the latter described in the Schedule to Noti
fication published in Govcrmueni Gazette of
8th June, .1910.
The elTect of this proposal, if carried out,
will be to take about 45 acres south of and be
low 1/eum Falls from Blue Mountains Shire
and add thai; area to Katoomba Municipality,
tiie transfer being rendered necessary owingto
portion of the pipe line, and certain filter beds
in connection with the Srweragt: System of .
the Municipality of Katoomba, being situated
in such portion of the Blue Mountains Shire.
Within the period of thirty days after the
date of this notice, the Council of the Katoom
ba Municipality or the Council of the Blue
Mountains Shire, or any ratepayer or creditor
of either of such areas, may make written re
presentation!* to the Minister on (he subject cf
the above proposal ; and Avilhin the said period
of thirty days one-third of the ratepayers of
the Katoomba Municipality or one third of the
ratepayers of the Blue Mountains Shire may,
by petition, demand that a poll be taken of the ' '
ratepayers of the said Katoomba Municipality
and of the said Blue Mountains Shire on the
question whether the power to unite the por
tion of the Blue Mountains Shire, described in
the (Schedule hereto, to the Kntoomba Munici
pality shall be exercised by the Governor.
