Supplies for the The Ten Tunnel Railway Deviation (Tunnels 8, 9 & 10) were transported down into the gorge using a short but steep Incline or Funicular Railway.

The Railway ran from the original railway near Mt Sinai to a point just south of Tunnel 10.  It was of the 4-Rail type, clearly shown in the photo.

Just about all that remains today are the stone walls that retained the railbed.
