Drivers Fisher in the front and Squires (push-up)

was going through Lapstone tunnel when by some

Line 2.2.0means a truck went off the rails followed
Line 2.2.1shortly by another. It was not until they got
Line 2.2.2into the open that the lending driver noticed the
Line 2.2.3derailed empties "jumping "and he at once pulled
Line 2.2.4up. It was found that the trucks had run along
Line 2.2.5the sleepers which were well ballasted,all the
Line 2.2.6way ana had sustained little or no damages
Line 2.2.7although they had gone over a bridge at the other
Line 2.2.8end of the tunnel. Arrangements were at once
Line 2.2.9made to reinstate the trucks which was done
Line 2.2.10after an hour or two's delay. The reason given for
Line 2.2.11the derailment is that the line was rather slippery
Line 2.2.12and the push up engine was unable to make
Line 2.2.13headway. When she did come it was with a
Line 2.2.14rush sufficient to displace the waggons. An
Line 2.2.15enquiry is to be held.
