Blue Mountains Shire
Council
At the fortnightly meeting of the
Blue Mountains Shire Council on 26th
ult., the following matters were dealt
with:
Mr G. Madden drew attention to the
state of Railway Parade, Woodford, and
asked that repairs be effected thereto.
-Referred to the engineer for atten
tion. ,
Mr E. Stocton drew attention to the
state of the footpath in Baxter Avenue
and Springfield Crescent, Springwood.
-Referred to the Urban Committee
for attention. |?
J. T. Wall anl Co. asked for an esti
mate of the cost of completing roads,
etc., which would enable Council to
approve of the Felsridge Subdivision.
-The engineer is to supply the infor
mation."
The Citizens of Sydney Organising
Committee wrote relative to tree
planting, and asked that Council noti
fy its probable requirements, to enable
nurserymen to have the necessary
seedlings ready when required.-Re
ferred to the Shire engineer.
The Railway Commissioners wrote
relative to improvement of subways at
Springwood. advising that the Depart
ment was only prepared to consider the
matter provided it was not involved In
any cost in connection therewith.
Received.
Mr W. G. Lupson complained of the
water being diverted through his-pro
perty, lots 3/5, Pitt Street, Springwood.
-Left with the engineer.
Mr S. Izard complained of the dust
nuisance in Burns Road, Springwood,
and asked that Council do something
to abate same.-Received.
Mr C. J. Jackson asked Council to
effect repairs to Hill Street, Glenbrook.
-Referred to the engineer for report
Springvood Urban Committee drew
attention to the growth of blackberries
in the district and asked that Council
give the matter consideration.-Neces
sary notices are to be served.
Sarlngwood Urban Committee drew
attention to the fact that nothing had
been done to provide an entrance to Mr
Munro's cottage in Railway Parade,
and stated that the sleepers had beer
knocked out and left lying in thp
watercourse.-The engineer reported
that no doubt arrangements would be
made to provide a suitable entrance, as
a new cottage was being erected for
Mr Munro.
The Department of Main Roads ad
vised that minor repairs would be
effected to the intersection of Main
Western Highway and Ziz Zag Road,
Glenbrook, and that Mr Pulman's com
plaint referred to a section of the road
between Briarcliffe and Lapstone
Hotel, the greater portion of which was
outside the Main Roads boundary.
Received.
Pacific Productions Ltd. forwarded
particulars of suggested scenario of
the Blue Mountains, length of sug
gested film 750ft, costing approximate
ly £383/10/-.-Consideration deferred
for a future meeting.
The T. and G. Society advised that
the proposed loante of £20,000 develop
mental works and £12,000 to . £15,000
Nepean River resumpton were such as
could not be entertained at the present
time.
The A.M.P. Society forwarded appli
cation forms in connection with above
mentioned loans, and advised that the
rate would probably be 41 per cent,
and the terms would not exceed 20
years, In either case.-The matter war
deferred until next meeting.
The Valuer-General's Department
forwarded list of valuations for "A"
Riding for the triennial pertod com
mencing 1st January, 1937, as follows:
Unimproved value, £142,831; improved
valuer £505,243; assessed annual value,
£34,908.
