brook, has been appointed con
sulting architect to Penrith Council.
TITRS. E. JENSEN, of Kingswood, who
recently underwent a serious op
eration in Nepean District Hospital,
has returned home and Is making good
progress.
ATR. and MRS. FREDERICK CLIS
T SOLD, of Wedmore Road, Emu
Plains, celebrated their golden wedding
on Tuesday. These estimable citizens
have the best wishes of many friends.
\TR. LANCE JEFFREE, Penrith's
gifted tenor, gave a fine quarter
hour recital through 2BL at the Royal
Showground on Easter Monday. It
was a programme entitled "Songs of
the British Isles", comprising five
songs by Mr. Jeffree.
TVTR. and MRS. GLADSTONE
iTA THOMAS, of Bathurst, the lat
ter a former Penrith girl, are coming
to Penrith to spend a few days and
to attend the G.P.S. Head of the
River, which they will view with Mr.
and Mrs. Bud Macken. The foursome
will also be guests at Lord Northcott's
garden party to be held at Govern
ment House this Thursday afternoon.
T)OWN from the far west for the
Easter Show was Mrs.1- M. A. Nes
bitt, whose lovely station home,
"Wammerawa", is at Carinda. A keen
observer in all exhibits Mrs. Nesbitt
has attended the Royal Easter Show
practically all her life. Most of her
time down here she is spending with
her sister, Mrs. Roy Law, of New
Charllevllle, Londonderry.
MR. and MRS. BOB WISBEYj' of
iU .Elong Elong (30 miles north of
Wellington, N.S.W.t, are the guests of
Mr .and Mrs. L. Chambers, of Castle
reagh Street, Penrith. Mr. and Mrs.
Wisbey have shown marked Interest
in the wool and wheat exhibits at the
Royal Show (a "busman's holiday").
Mr. Wisbey attended the wool sales in
Sydney, where he had some fine
fleece before buyers.
TITR. F. R. FRY, of Emu Plains Pri
son Staff, spent the week-end at
Bathurst as an official at the. motor
cylce meeting there. Judging by his
statements and local reports the meet
ing was a brilliant success. During his
official duties at Bathurst Mr. Fry
met many friends and acquaintances
of his dirt track riding days. Mr. Fry
is a*native of the City of the. Plains,
and has considerable interests there
in the poultry and orchard industry.
