The Glenbrook Washaway.

Mr. G. R. Henson, Railway Superinten-
dent has favored us with a picture show-
ing the above washaway, which took
place near the tunnel of the Lapstone
Zigzag. Had the train leaving Glenbrook
gone into the torrent there would have been
a terrible catastrophe, and it is
doubtful if any lives would have been
saved. The Railway Commissioners re-
warded two young men with £25 each for

The Glenbrook Washaway.

Mr. G. R. Henson, Railway Superinten-dent has favored us with a picture show-ing the above washaway, which took place near the tunnel of the Lapstone Zigzag. Had the train leaving Glenbrook gone into the torrent there would have been a terrible catastrophe, and it is doubtful if any lives would have been saved. The Railway Commissioners re-warded two young men with £25 each for hurrying to Glenbrook to stop the train, which otherwise would have left there and gone on to destruction.
