I This is a very busy place jaat now, and
R likely to be (or many months'to come. Good
progress is being made with the.deviation
works, many of the cuttings being wfell^fox

line is being pat down to facilitate the work
out at the Bluff. Th re is now 2,000 people '
at the different camps sad water has been
laid on to all of ti;em, and when the power ,

all will be lighted up with electric light.
The pnblic school is now being held in i
the School of Ai" , in addition to the school ]
proper, whi h is occupied by the infants ; a
new teacher haviDg been provided. In themain
H camp there are several stores, an up-to-date
billiard salcon and a Trades' Hall, where
meetings aie held by the anion, and lectures
given oocasioDally on vaiious subjects.
There is still plen'yof water In the lagoon,
which BupplieB the locomotives with water
by giavitation, and the different aamps'sre
being supplied from Glenbrook Greek, pnmp- '
ed up into a 20,000 gallon tank in the station I
yard, and then re-pnmped op to the various 1
camps for domestic purposes, etc, I
