N.S.W. ESTATE OF £2,311,000.
Application for probato of Mr. Hall's will was
mfi'de on "'November. 17, and tho total value of
the estate in New' South Wo.lee was 'sworn at
£2,3il,000, in. addition to which ho had property
in victoria and Queensland.
The will was drawn In 1896,- and the oxocutrix
and executors appointed wcro Mrs. Walter, R.
Hall Air Richard Gardiner Cnsoy, nnd Mr.
Kelso King The deceased's widow, Eliza Row-
den Hall was appointed tho residuary legatee,
and' succeeds to tho whole of her bUBband 3 pro-
nertv after the bequests in tho will and codicils
have been, discharged. Air. Hall loft no chil-
drTho testator ordered the following legacies to
be paid out of his cstato:— To his wifo, £100000.
"to tho wife of his brother. Thomas Ekarrntt Hall
and - her 'children. £40,000, to be settled in a
particular manner sot out in the will; to bis
brotbor, James Bains Hall, and his wife and
children, £40,000, upon cortain conditions; to his
trustees, £20,000 on trust, for the disposal
of tho satfio for such lawful local charitable
uses as they may think fit; to each child ot
his brother, James Wesley Hall, £1000; to
each child of bis uncle, Charles Carlton Skar
ratt. £6000; to Louisa Hall, widow of bis
late brotbor, Henry Albert Hall, of Portor's
Head (England),- £5000; to his brothor-ln-law.
Gcorgo Marshall Kirk, of Albion, Brisbane,
£6000; to each of tho daughters of his late
uncle, William Carlton Skarratt. £4000; to
Donald Skarratt, son of William Carlton Skar
ratt, £4000; to each ot tho other sons of Wil
liam Carlton Skarratt, £3000; to Airs. Ward,,
daughter of his uncle, Thomas O. Skarratt,
£4000: to Harry S. Brothwood, ot Lcicbhardt.
chemist, £4000; to each of bis uncles, Charles
Carlton Skarratt and Thomas Carlton Skarratt,
£1000; to Miss Frances Wlppell and G. W.
Ellison, ot Alelbourne, relatives of his widow,

In his employ at tho time' of his death, such
sum as would equal three months' wages for
overy year they had respectively been In his
employ; to his trustees, all the principal nnd
interest of tho moneys owing or ncrulng duo
to him on mortgages for the. sum of £4000 on
properties known as Olderflcet andlealto, Col-
llns-stroot, Alolbourne, and also oa a mortgago
for tho sum of'£20,000.on lOO acros of ldnd near
Glen Irish-road, near Mclbourpo, with a direc
tion that tho trustees settle the moneys or
properties comprised in the mortgages upon
tho samo or similar trusts in favor of the
wifo and children ot his brother, Thomas Skar
ratt Ilall, as they would settle the before-mon-
tionod sum of £40,000; to Willium Chands Hall,
certain property at Wcntworth Falls; and to
George Marshall Kirk, a rosldcnco at Albion,
Brlsbano.
Tho first codicil of tho will bequeathed all
the real and personal estate to which testator
was ontltled In Queensland to his wife absolute
ly; and in tho second codicil a second bequest
of £30,000 was mado to the trustocs op trust, to
be, used for such lawful charitable uses in tho

There was also a bequest of £1000 to his butler,
William Shepherd, in addition to tho amount
