Glenbrook Cot Ball
One of the most commendable char
itable movements In this district is
Glen brook's support of a cot in that
very worthy institution, Renwick Hos
pital for Infants. The annual ball in
aid pf this cause has unfailingly met
with considerable local support, and
such was the case with the ball held
last Saturday evening, in the Log
House.
The result of the usual fine organi
sation by Glenbrook ladies was a highly
successful function. A committee, with
Mesdames Skarratt and Lovett as
Frcsident and secretary respectively,
had arranged an excellent night's en
tertainment, which was enjoyed by
well over one hundred persons.
Among: the guests were Mr J N.
Lawson, Minister for Trade and Cus
toms, and Mrs Lawson. Mrs J. Jackson,
and Miss J. Jackson, Mr Shonk, secret,
ai'v of the Benevolent Society of New
Ecuth Wales and Mrs Shonk, and Miss
J. Alexander and Mr J. McDonald, of
2KA.
During the evening the engagement
cf Miss Molly Crowther, of Ficton, and
Mr Don Skarratt, of Narromine, son of
Mr and Mrs Skarratt, of '' Mountside,"
Glenbrook, was announced. The young
couple, received the congratulations
and (jood wishes of their many friends
present.
The committee wishes tq, thank Mr
S. Walker, of Emu Plains, who so
generously gave his services as door
keeper, and also anyone who assisted in
nnv way towards the success of the
function.
Good music was supplied by a Manly
orchestra and a first-class supper
was provided.
